Production Narrative

by D. Holleley

Because the book is primarily text I was able to edition it quite inexpensively. The document was set “two-up” in QuarkXPress, a single copy printed on the laser printer at the Workshop and this “master copy” was then simply photocopied at Kinkos. Each chapter head had a small (color) visual motif. These were separately photocopied on a color machine and inserted by hand into the document. The resulting stack of paper was then cut in two—thus from each letter-size sheet I was able to obtain 4 pages. The covers were also produced on a color photocopier from a single ink jet print “master.” About 100 copies were produced and I had them perfect bound commercially.
