Project Statement
by J. Drucker
Rinne documented all of the bands he had been in as the basic premise of this book. It is a goofy book, with exuberant energy and a casual disregard for the rules of fine press or high production decorum. On the other hand, the almost un-designed approach to the cover type and the flat-footed interior layouts with their degraded photographs and xerox quality printing have a directness and immediacy appropriate to the task. Unpretentious and energetic, this record of a youthful period of creative activity also encodes the material possibilities of the era in its use of readily available technology and means, all fully understood in terms of how they communicate aesthetically.
