Design Features
typographic: A humanistic, serif font-type, size 14 throughout book; two words "Kiss end," appear in 6 point or smaller font on bottom right hand corner of final page of book.
imagery: The images of this book all appear on the right-hand pages, and are consistently centered with on a black background. The images depict plastic figurine-dolls (often couples) engaging in various activiies ranging from ranging from conversational to sexual to athletic activities. While the majority of images show one male and one female, some show only a single figurine, or as many as three. The figurines are not always clothed, and often are arranged so that they appear different sizes. Of course, they very well may all be the same size, and simply positioned at varying distances before photographed. The images generally relate to the text on the left-hand pages.
graphical: Typed-content appears only on left-hand pages while images appear only on right hand pages. Both typed content and images generally feature consistent borders. On left hand pages, the horizontal (meaning left and right) borders are always consistent, but vertical (meaning upper and lower borders) borders vary depending on length of typed content. On the right hand pages, the borders vary depending on whether or not the image is vertically or horizontally aligned.
openings: Opens immediately to title page. Content begins on back of title page. Every page, with the exception of the final page, opens as a spread with text on the left hand side and an image on the right hand side.
turnings: Pages are folded once and bound by spiral, causing them to feel thicker and turn more stiffly.
development: Through out the book, the vignettes vary on content usually focusing on either sexuality, or the end of a relationship. The final page however, deals with the beginning of a relationship and is --unlike the other spreads-- unaccompanied by an image on the right hand side. At the bottom right hand corner of this final page, in size nine font appear the words "kiss end"
