Project Statement
by D. Beube
This visual chronicling of interweaving photographs, post cards, personal letters and found imagery into a book form, explores the relationship between a man and a woman. Through the offset medium, the book becomes a complex visual narrative with text and pictures, rather than simply a reproduction of photographic images. This process produces layers of transparent and opaque pages, which, when combined, reflect the various relationships of image to image, word to image, and psyche to symbols -- all of which can both masque and reveal.
