Production Narrative
by F. Deschamps
For The Return of the Slapstick Papyrus, Joan Lyons secured a sponsored work grant from the New York State Council on the Arts . Coincidentally that year I was also fortunate to receive a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. These funds made possible a year of sabbatical travel to Egypt, India, Nepal and France during which I made photographs to use in the book. My partner, Judith Mohns, made many of the images of me as the detective, Rogue Savage, in exotic settings in Egypt, India, and Nepal. Brad Freeman made the half-tones and printed the book at the Visual Studies Workshop.
