Production Narrative

Mold made of Zöe Brookes' torso in 9th month of third pregnancy; Fortran casting of mold made for costume by Mark Prent of Pinkhouse Studios in Vermont. Digital image research and creation for projection onto torso; photographs and video taken of projections and printed on archival inkjet. Science Encyclopedias picked up on the street the night before community big trash pick-up; all genetics references removed, categorized and stored. Collect potential genetic samples from family members – hair, fingernails, blood; date and archive samples. Genetic molecule disease indicators selected from bio-informatics database and code downloaded; downloaded java-based molecule imaging application (iMol); designed look of molecules, animated, and captured quicktime movies and jpegs, printed archival images of molecules. Scarlet Letter selected and purchased from Whitlock Farm Book Barn, Bethany, CT; packed and flown to Frogn, Norway; read, re-read, marked up, highlighted; pages removed, pages added from science books; pop-ups created and inserts added; dust jacket removed, altered and replaced.
