Project Statement

Swell is short story in comic form. It begins with a woman waking up in the middle of the night to the abrasive sound of her elderly mother chewing sugar in the kitchen. The rest of the story follows their conversation in the wee hours, touching on themes such as memory, aging, and a need for sweets.
